Mr Emery, who works at the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries and was sponsored by Future Farmers Network, undertook the intensive five-day workshop last week at the 25th Marcus Oldham Rural Leadership Program at Geelong.
Other recipients and their sponsoring organisations include Shay Pratt, Killara Feedlot, Werris Creek, NSW (Future Farmers Network), Kurt de Jonge, agronomist, Roberts Limited, Smithton, Tasmania, Rhys Fischer, cattle producer, Meningie, SA and Boo Harvey, cattle producer, Goolgowi, NSW (Fairfax Agricultural Media) and Alison Haines, senior lecturer, Charles Darwin University, Katherine, NT (Centralian Beef Breeders Association).
Foundation chairman John Gunthorpe said the six recipients joined an impressive alumni of young people who attended the program in recent years and were now making an important contribution to Australia’s agriculture.
“The prestigious leadership program assists young people by enhancing their personal development and leadership abilities to equip them in taking leadership roles in the agricultural sector,” Mr Gunthorpe said.
