With a gross of $2,952,500 and an average price of $8340 across the bulls and the females, vendors and buyers alike were happy with the results.
Top priced bull of the sale sold for $94,000, with Lawson Camm’s grey bull Cambil Hawkins 4817 selling to Peter Camm, Glenprairie.
Hawkins 4817, a polled stud sire, boasted 900kg of red meat, with an impressive EMA of 137sq cm, and a scrotal circumference of 37.5cm.
A total of 156 grey stud bulls sold for a 99 per cent clearance and an average of $9210, while the reds saw a 96 per cent clearance and an average of $8485.
Topping the red bulls was Lanes Creek Brahmans’ Lanes Creek Duragal 1665, a polled bull boasting an EMA of 131sq cm, a scrotal circumference of 39cm, and weighed in at 734kg, who sold for $44,000 to Nick Dudarko, Kangarin Brahmans, Biloela.
Second top priced bull of the sale was also Lawson Camm’s offering, with the grey Cambil Ascot Manso 4809 selling to a partnership of Brett Nobbs, Nobbs Cattle Co, and John Kirk, Carinya Brahmans, for $66,000.
Ascot Manso 4809, a grey sire, weighed 870kg with an EMA of 135sq cm and a scrotal circumference of 39cm.
A female auction was held at the sale, with 83 heifers offered up for an average of $6665 and sold for a 99 per cent clearance.
Topping the heifers was Lanes Creek Krystal 1618, who sold for $21,000 to Brian Harriman, Reedy Brook, Mt Garnet.
The sale recorded a great improvement on last year’s results, with bull numbers up 27 per cent, the gross of the sale improved by 47 per cent, and the average rose 13 per cent.
