After a full schedule on day one of the conference, guests gathered at the Charters Towers School of Distance Education for drinks and a sit down meal on Wednesday.
Delegates from across Queensland are mingling and enjoying the entertainment, which began with a performance by Towers Taiko, Japanese Drumming Group.
Comedian Fiona O'Loughlin and singer Laurence Sorbello are also performing on the night.
The get together follows a busy day at the conference, which was officially opened this morning by His Excellency the Honourable Paul De Jersey AC, Governor of Queensland.
Funding allocations for rural families sending their children to boarding school and provisions for geographically isolated distance education students were among the agenda items discussed.
Communications were a focus during the afternoon, with updates provided on connectivity by both NBN Co and Telstra.
The conference continues on Thursday.
